Four Years - Libby & Abby

Case:  Double Homicide - Liberty German, Abigail Williams
Location:  Monon High Bridge Trail, Delphi, Indiana
Date of Crime: February 13 - 14, 2017

It has been nine (9) months since the deaths of Liberty German and Abigail Williams.  Nine months of waiting for law enforcement to release more information about the case, the information that peaks our curiosity, the information we think will lead us closer to the killer(s).   Obviously we still have nothing more than a voice clip, the sketch and hidden implications in statements from law enforcement.

For a moment, let's allow ourselves to read the quote from Captain Bursten, " .  .  .  Keep in mind, all of you who are in the television business, what do you see out of the TV?  You see this (pointing to center vision), you don't see what's over here, (pointing to his left), you don't see what's over here, (pointing to his right)."

Of course, he was saying there was a likelihood of a henchman waiting to assist bridge guy.

But, for the moment, I'd like to translate it a bit differently.  You, I, everyone who is watching this case over social media is only seeing what is on social media.  We're not seeing inside the home, inside the school, inside the ball games, etc.

We can't get but so deep inside any of these areas because law enforcement has closed so many doors in our face.  The total lack of more viable information to identify the killer is a closed door.  The minimal, "down the hill" clip from what is a six (6) minute audio, is a closed door.  The concealment of the method of killing,  which may cause someone to recognize the weapon is a closed door, just as what you read below relating to social media and Facebook is yet another closed door.

But when looking into a murder, it is common practice for law enforcement to work from the inside out.  They start in the home, questioning family members, then they work their way out, right?  Right.

Who all were Abby and Libby in contact with?  Numerous people, I'd imagine.  This was a couple of girls who were active in school, extra classes at the college for Libby and they played ball.

We'd expect they'd have almost daily contact with the following,
at a minimum:

Family
Friends & Co-workers of parents/guardians/household members
School Friends, Staff, Visitors
Sports Events, Friends, Staff, Visitors
College, Friends, Staff
Their own Friends and Family members of those friends
Neighbors
Social Media Acquaintances

Then, of course, we'd have to know the family members' activities.  Did they have social gatherings at their homes with friends, hunting buddies, riding buddies, coworkers, extended family?  Had either parent or guardian hired a worker at the home recently such as a landscaper, a repairman?

How much did Libby and Abby discuss their plans that Monday afternoon?  Didn't Abby post a picture of the bridge that day?  Who could have seen that or who would have been watching for their next plan to hike the trail?

No one wants to say it, but multiple school employees, coaches, etc all over the country are being arrested daily for sexually motivated crimes ranging from molestation to murder.  (The same applies to family members of victims daily.)  This group can not be ignored when trying to solve this case.  As one example, Barry Wolfe, the coach for the Central Illinois Storm basketball team, was recently arrested for sexually motivated crimes against children.

Social Media can tell us a lot about a person's activities.  Facebook keeps a history of our posts on our timeline.   In September, 2017 (7 months after their death), I read some of Abby's and Libby's posts on their timelines and some of the posts from their immediate family members.  When I returned to these same timelines (those of Libby and Abby as well as their immediate family members) I found that all of their public posts had been removed all the way back to 2013.  That's four (4) years.

Four Years.

Is this an indication that someone they've encountered since 2013 would be suspicious?

What is the significance of these years?

What changed during the last four years that may lead to the killer?
