The 6 Minute Murders - Libby & Abby

Case - Double Homicide of Liberty German and Abigail Williams
Location - Monon High Bridge Trail, Delphi, Indiana
Date of Crime - February 13 - 14, 2017

          Watching this case and reading comments from others on YouTube and Facebook groups, I just want to talk about one comment which seems to keep popping up.  It is always in some variation of, "The girls were not raped; the whole thing was over in six (6) minutes".

          I can see why people make this comment.  How much do we really know?  The only details we have been given tell us very little.
          1. Victim took photo of suspect, authorities in turn shared photo and composite
          2.  Victim recorded 6 minutes of audio on her phone including the clip shared with the public of the unsub saying, "down the hill".
          3.  A timeline of events excluding the actual time the audio was started (the beginning of the crime).
          4.  Location of bodies discovered 50 feet from the bank of Deer Creek on the side where the terrain is very rough.

          If we only go on validated facts, this is the only logical conclusion.

       What would be the outcome of our conclusions if we added in a few hidden facts implications directly from the authorities themselves?

       Lets' take a look at Sgt. Tony Slocum's response to a journalist in reference to the contents of the recording in the following video at 30:07.

          Slocum responded, "This young lady's a hero.  There's no doubt.  To have enough presence of mind to activate the video system on her cell phone to record what we believe is criminal behavior about to occur . . . as far as the first part of your question, that's something we're going to keep close to the vest as part of the investigation.  But there is no doubt in our minds that that young lady is a hero".

          "About to occur", doesn't sound like they have the entire crime recorded.

Possible Contents of Audio

          1.  The point of abduction to the point of the murders.
          2.  The point of abduction to the possible discovery of the phone in Libby's possession.
          3.  The point of abduction to a new destination to be held until the dark hours.

```````````````````````````
          Note:  Authorities have not stated whether or not Libby's phone was recovered from the crime scene.
          "The phone was pinging all over town."
          Because the phone was pinging off multiple points does not mean the phone was with someone driving all over town.  The phone could have pinged off multiple areas from the vicinity of the crime scene.   We aren't 100% sure how the audio was obtained.
         ``````````````````````````````````

          So the bones tossed our way by the authorities are minimal in that we only know an approximate time the crime began, we've seen a composite sketch obtained from a grainy photograph and possible descriptions from unidentified witnesses, and a three word audio (4 if you listen closely).

          While it is understandable that authorities can not just hand over their entire case file, another bone or two here and there, may entice a memory.

          There are multiple rumors.  A description of the bodies, the assaults, and statements from individuals before the authorities became involved in the handling of the media surrounding this case.

          From the facts we've been given, what other conclusion can be made?

         With the "6 minute murder without rape" scenario, we would assume the unsub would have directed them down the hill, across the creek and through some very rough terrain to reach the 50 feet from the creek bank mark, where the bodies were found.  [The terrain is so rough there that a person would not be able to drag two bodies to that area from the other side of the creek and if he were capable, it's pretty obvious he wouldn't take that amount of time in a public area to drag two bodies over 800 feet from the end of the bridge to the crime scene.]  He then, quickly killed both girls and fled the scene.

          Without listening to rumors, what was the motive?

          Was it a stranger they had a confrontation with just prior to reaching the bridge?

          Was it an angry property owner?

          Did someone they knew personally have that much anger or jealousy toward them?

          Were they in someone else's way in life?

          What would someone else gain from the death of Libby and Abby?

          What secrets would stay buried with Libby and Abby?

          In this scenario, it's a case of, find the motive and you'll find the killer(s).

          If authorities would verify the method of killing, someone may recognize the weapon itself .  .  . if the rumor is true.

         Or, would knowing the killing method lead us to other logical details or conclusions the authorities are protecting?

Probably.
