One Killer or Two? - Double Homicide -Liberty German, Abigail Williams

One Killer Acting Alone

Age - 35 to 50 years old
Military, Law History
Married
Probably has children of his own or spends time with children near the same age as Libby and Abby
Hunter, Outdoor type
Familiar with or associated with either Libby or Abby or both
Frequents the area for hunting purposes

The FBI classifies killers in one of three categories, Organized, Disorganized and Mixed.

This crime appears to have been well planned by someone who has knowledge of forensics,   This was an organized crime, planned methodically to avoid being discovered.  One of the most common links among organized killers is abducting victims, killing them in one place and disposing of them in another.  The organized killer knows forensic science.  They tend to follow their own crimes in the media.  They tend to have a higher IQ than average.  Organized killers are often married with children and have what are seemingly normal relationships with social lives and are usually described by family and friends as a good person who would never hurt anyone.

Planning a crime of this nature normally means choosing the victim(s) first, and observing them.   Whether by watching them on the trails where they frequented or by viewing social media or by a personal association with one or both of the girls, it is likely the killer(s) knew them or knew they were going to be there.

It is highly probable the killer knew one or both of these girls personally because one who knows the victim, wants the body to be found.  If the girls were murdered by an organized killer, they were abducted, killed elsewhere and returned to the woods to be found.

The disorganized killer reacts more impulsively, uses whatever is within reach as a weapon, doesn't normally move the body and doesn't leave behind a clean crime scene.

Two Killers

If Liberty German and Abigail Williams were attacked by two killers, the situation still doesn't change .  .  .  much.

One of the killers would obviously be the lead in this crime with the other being his "henchman", so to speak.  The henchman would be the man lying in wait as the other guy lead the girls toward him.

The "leader" would be expected to have most of the characteristics of a single killer, working alone.  The only two things that may not exist if this killer had a partner in crime, would be a marriage and children of his own.

The henchman is expected to be a weaker man than the leader, obviously.  By weaker, the meaning is not so much in physical strength (although that likely applies) but inner strength.  The henchman is most likely a black sheep in the family, the underdog, the one who never gets noticed and may even grumble about that quite often.  The henchman wants to impress what he sees as a strong, man's man in the killer.  He probably isn't married either and most likely still lives with his parents.  I'd also approximate his age as being between 25 and 35 years old.

If there was a henchman and if the rumors of the condition of the bodies are true, did the henchman make one mistake?  We'll look at that in an upcoming post.
