Hidden Implications - Libby & Abby

Case: Double Homicide - Liberty German, Abigail Williams
Location:  Monon High Bridge Trail, Delphi, Indiana
Date of Crime: February 13 - 14, 2017

One burning question in the case of Liberty German and Abigail Williams, two young girls who were murdered in Delphi, Indiana is, "Did they know their killer?".

Obviously, at this time the answer waits as law enforcement scours for clues and a DNA match.  However, I personally believe law enforcement has clues and more than just an inkling of the events of February 13 and 14, 2017.

Readers, please excuse the video time plays. Blogger isn't as friendly as I remembered. I have updated the blog with times inserted to go directly to the statements referenced.

(At 25.00) Listen to Captain Dave Burston, Chief Public Information Officer, Indiana State Police,

"One of two things happened.  That was a chance encounter?  That's possible.  Don't think it's likely, but it's possible. . . or that person knew that they were going to be there.  That's possible as well."

From the beginning, there have been implications from law enforcement that this was a crime committed by someone who knew Libby and Abby would be there.

(At 26.11) FBI Special Agent, Massa stated,

"There has been no indication right now that this is part of a serial murder, if that's what your question is.  So, as of the facts that we have collected at this point and time, we have not tied it to any other known homicides"

This is another implication that this crime was of a more personal nature.  If there is no indication of a serial killer then law enforcement is possibly saying we have either, A. a random chance encounter with an individual who will never kill again or B. someone knew they'd be there, which implies either knowing one or both of them personally or having stalked one or both over a period of time before the attack.

"They were killed in a barn."  This statement came early in the case, from family members.

There is a large number of people who can not imagine why someone would take two girls to a barn to murder them and return their bodies to be found.

If this crime is personal with the murderer(s) being someone who knew the girls were going to be there, that means the killer(s) had time for planning.  This was a regular activity for Libby and Abby.  It would be expected that a number of people in their lives would have known where they'd be that afternoon.

If the girls were taken to a barn, this gave the killer(s) several hours to finish the job with whatever that entailed and return the bodies between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 7:41 a.m. (The Dark Hours).

When a murderer returns a body after they're finished with it, this is usually for one of two reasons.

1.  The killer knew the victim personally in life, possibly had some feelings for the person, so they'd want the body to be found for a proper burial.

2.  If this was any type of a revenge killing, it would require the bodies being discovered in order for the crime to effect the family as intended.

[As a third motive for returning the bodies, if this were a local who committed this crime in a barn on their own property, they definitely would not want those bodies to be found in their barn.]

When asked by one reporter at (26:34), "Do you have an extensive volume of audio and video that you're not sharing?  I mean, is there more?"

          Captain Dave Burston responded with,

"We have other information that we're not sharing.  Specific to your question, Rafael, keep in mind . . . the likeliness and the possibility of more than one person.  We're not saying that the person, the voice is the same as this person here (pointing to photo of Bridge Guy).  This is all very complicated, very involved and as much as we'd like to tell you everything, more importantly we want to solve the crime."

Why would Captain Burston choose that moment to point out the possibility of more than one killer?  Something from the audio contents we have not heard yet?

When asked at 28:14, "Can you, I guess, reconcile, this is believed to be the main suspect, the voice is believed to be, a suspect, can you say you believe that's the voice of that man in that photo?",

Captain Burston replied, "No, I can't say that.  Because we weren't there.  We know that that voice was captured from her cell phone.  We know that this image was captured from her cell phone,  Keep in mind all of you who are in the television business, what do you see out of the TV?  You see this (pointing to center vision), you don't see what's over here (pointing to his left), you don't see what's over here (pointing to his right)."

The implication is that another party (a henchman) was lying in wait at the end of the bridge, surprising, shocking the girls, saying, "Down the hill", while Bridge Guy was tailing them to keep them from running back.

It happens every day, duos, pairs, gangs, whatever numerical slang applies; sexual predators who work with partners are raping and killing together, as a team, all over the world.

Does that mean Libby and Abby were raped and murdered by two serial killers?  We can't rule it out.  But when we listen closely to the statements we realize, this isn't what law enforcement is implying.

          "Was this a chance encounter?". . . ."don't think it's likely."
"We have no indication right now that this is part of a serial murder."
"Keep in mind, the likeliness and possibility of more than one person."

More than one person, someone who knew they'd be there, and it is not a serial killer?

To me personally, this says, they knew the two guys that did this to them.
