Couple Arrested - 10 Month Old On Life Support - Baby Boy C.W.T

The new year of 2018 brings along with it the first call to authorities reporting child neglect and abuse.  Just like little Mariah Woods, this infant child was living with his mother and her live in boyfriend.

Fox 59 reported that on December 29, 2017, two people were taken into custody pending charges after the Mullens Fire Department responded to an unresponsive child call at Guyandotte Hills Apartments.  

Wyoming County Deputies arrested Gregory Church Junior, 25 and Crystal Thomas, 24 of Mullens on Monday, January 1, 2018 [charging both with felony child neglect].  Crystal Thomas is the biological mother of the child while Church is a live in boyfriend.  

The infant victim was transported to Raleigh General Hospital and later transported to Charleston Area Medical Center where the infant was diagnosed as having multiple broken bones, brain hemorrhages, torn retinas, and torn lips and tongue.  The baby is now on life support, according to Fox59.
