Thirty-Six

I witnessed a recent discussion as to whether or not the Delphi suspect, alleged to be responsible for the murders of Liberty German (Libby) and Abigail Williams (Abby) is right handed or left handed.

So, I studied the way the pistol was laying against his body.

My first immediate thought was, "the gun is in his coat pocket".

But looking closer at this, I can say 100% he does not have the gun inside his pocket.  The gun is pointed the wrong way to retrieve it from the pocket.  The barrel is pointing outward, toward the opening of the pocket.

So, this means the gun is most likely holstered on that side, retrievable by the other hand, reaching inside the coat.

(Shoulder Holster - Ambidextrous, Right handed, Left handed)

In looking at this, it is very clear that this guy is a leftie.

Yes, he is one of a very low percentage of the population!

If he is ambidextrous (both a righty and a lefty) he would be one of only 1% of the population.

I mingled this thought for a while, considering the perspective of the photo/video taken by Libby, but that doesn't come into play at all.

If we simply imagine him walking across this bridge in the direction of the "down the hill" scene, it's obvious the gun is holstered on the right, making him a left handed suspect.

Let's add to that the fact that no matter which direction he would be walking, his left arm would be to the inside of the trestle.
So, we're down to what many topics on the web say is 12% of the population.  But within that 12% - are females.  They have to be excluded from this study.  It is said that male lefties outnumber female lefties by 23%.

In other studies worth acknowledging findings have been:

Left Handed Males - 11.6%  Females - 8.6%
and
Left Handed Males - 13%   Females - 11%

We're down to 13% of the population now.

That means there are approximately 21,000,000 to 22,000,000 left handed males in the USA.

If we narrow down further, we find the population of white males in Indiana to be 2,689,711.

Sticking to statistics, figuring 13% of the males living in Indiana are left handed, then roughly 349,662 left handed males populate the state.

Now, let's break that down further by looking at this great demographic of the population of Indiana

In the state of Indiana there are 349,662 white males between the ages of 35 and 59 years old

If we continue to follow statistics, we find that 13 % of that number is 128,528 white, left handed males living in the state of Indiana.

Now, let's go one step further.  Carroll County has a white male population totaling 9,692.  Of that number, 3,543 of those are white males between the ages of 35 and 59 years old.

Continuing with the math this would mean approximately 460 white males between the ages of 35 and 39 reside in Carroll County, Indiana.

We can stop here or we can go further.
We could subtract the other 32%.

Which 32% you ask?

Well, I'm glad you asked.

That 32% of white, left handed males who have blue eyes.

Remember?  LE made it clear to us, the suspect does not have blue eyes.
We're down to 313 non-blue eyed, white, left handed males between the ages of 35 and 59 living in Carroll County, Indiana.

We've come this far, why not take a look at Delphi, Indiana alone and see what we come up with?

Please use this link for reference:

The city of Delphi has a population of 1,252 white males and only 400 of those are between 35 and 59 years old.
Let's subtract the blue eyed people.
400 - 32% = 272
Now, only 13% of these non-blue eyed, white males between the ages of 35 and 59 are left handed, bringing us down to roughly 36 people that fit the actual criteria - living within Delphi, Indiana.

36, non-blue eyed, white, left handed males between the ages of 35 and 59 years old.

Who do you know that fits this criteria?
