Stepmother of Lucas Hernandez Arrested

Wichita police have arrested Emily Glass, the stepmother of Lucas Hernandez.  



Lucas' father was working out of town on Saturday February 17, 2018 when Emily called authorities to report Lucas missing.  She reported that she had left him in his bedroom while she took a shower and a nap.  She checked his room 3 hours later to find Lucas was gone.  It was also stated that his shoes and his coat were still in his room.  

Authorities searched the neighborhood, with Officers checking front yards while dogs were used in the back yards.  Authorities also searched the local 216 acre Chilshom Creek Park in Wichita.  

An Aunt alleged she had seen signs of abuse on Lucas and had reported this last Spring to the Kansas Department of Childr.  Other reports of violent fights between Lucas' father and stepmother have also been alleged.

According to The Eagle, Lucas' great grandmother reported being told by Lucas himself that his stepmother had kicked him and dragged him across the room.  She stated she had reported these concerns to CPS, who declined to comment.  

Yesterday, 2/22/2018, Emily Glass was arrested and charged with 2 counts of child endangerment on  a $50,000.00 bond alleging one child who was endangered the other is a one year old child.  



The disappearance of Lucas Hernandez is now considered a criminal investigation by Wichita State Police.
